How I understand my baby’s cues for potty at 8 months

I can’t be more than happy today. I was ignoring the signs and cues my baby girl was giving me for so long. Today she nailed it. To my utter surprise I do not have to do anything other than putting her on her seat in the toilet. Then she just did something beyond her age.

Yes my nearly 8 months old baby pooped in the toilet.

Let’s have short look in details now.  My girl doesn’t poo everyday.  So I’m always worried about her and really wait for her to go. Because when she’s constipated she gets very fussy. So I keep giving her food with fibres and fruits to keep her digestive system working good.

After she started her weaning the texture of her poop changed. It became harder. So everytime she strains and goes red I knew she was going to poo. Whenever I open her nappy to my surprise there was little or no poo in the nappy. And as soon as I open the nappy she start eliminating poo. Seriously,  she poops when I open her nappy.  I been doing this for a month now.  So I already had a potty that I brought for her where she peed earlier. I shared that experience as well in this post.

Been ignoring those signs and cues thinking this might be really early for her to potty in the toilet. I was happy for her just doing pee once a day. But again and again I see her in pain in strain and she was not doing it made me pick her and rush to the toilet. And within seconds she relieved herself. She was smiling and I was just saying.  ‘Good girl my girl just done poo poo’.

I never thought about proper potty training. I’m still not going to push her towards potty training until she starts walking . I will just catch the signs and then take her very slowly.

No more pain as gravity works better than nappy. No more rashes as she will be cleaned immediately.  And no more smelly poop. All we get is happy baby and happy mummy.

I encourage those mums who believe in picking the signs of elimination communication to go for it. Why not try it. If your baby is happy with it then it’s something that will help him later. If not then you can try later when your baby is ready.

My 7 month old baby wee in toilet today – I’m so happy

I never knew that my girl will give such a quick response at this age. I was shopping in tesco and I saw a potty seat, the one that goes over the toilet. I just bought it like this will help in future.

So she was giving me signs that I was ignoring.  Like whenever I used to change her nappy at night she wees right after I take it off. Most of the times the wee goes right on my bed. Sorry I no longer use any changing mat now. I was like why didn’t you do it in nappy. And there I thought wait ! Let’s try potty. May be let’s try my luck.

The next day I put the potty right at the same time before bed and I sat her on it.  I made the sound sssssssss. Nothing happened. Then I put little water over her wee wee spot.. After 5 minutes she did and she was like .

I was very very happy. I praised her so much after that. And she was giggling and babbling. I’m so proud of her now.  I’m not going to push her to do poo at this stage now and going to put her on potty just once at night for few weeks. So she just get used to it.

So that is our first step towards growing up. Let me know if anyone of you have any nice tips for later. I will keep it updated with potty training.

stop leaving skid marks ! (poo talk)

Caution; this post is going to be completely rude and you will find a lot of poop talks.

This is for those who don’t even care about what they leave behind for others to see.

Everytime I go to the public toilets, those people who are really confident to show their poop always drive me crazy. I mean why the heck ?

Well toddler need potty training.  Shall I ask government to design adult potty training as well?

When I got married and start living with my husband. The first shock I had was when I saw his toilet. I was like

That was the first time I realised that marriage is about cleaning shit as well. A reminder for all of those girls who are going to be married soon. Your husband is going to fart in the same blanket as well.  So prepare your mind for all that business.

Some people think that I have OCD. They told me toilets are all about smell, pee and poo. I dont really think so. Actually, if keeping the toilet clean and sparkling comes under ocd than yes I have ocd.

On a serious note, it’s really not nice when you go toilet and see that stuff. For a person like me would never tolerate that.  If someone leave skid marks in the toilet and I see them leaving confidently. I just have a really dirty image of them in my mind. It spreads diseases as well. So please keep it clean.

There’s how you can deal with the situation .
